Happy Birthday February 4, 2007
Jeanne entered pre mature contractions on Monday of last week (1/29/07). Week 32 came and went with Jeanne stuck in a hospital bed and the doctors trying to come up with a plan to keep the babies from arriving to soon. On Sunday, SuperBowl Sunday I might add, the battle between what the babies wanted and what the doctors wanted was resolved with the birth of the twins. Baby "A" as he has been affectionately noted along the way was born at 1:30pm Phoenix time weighing 3.13 1/2 oz, 17 1/4 long and was named Devin Michael Perry. Baby "B" entered the world 12 minutes after his brother at 4.2 oz and also 17.4 inches in length. He was named Mason Daryl Perry (Yes we are aware of the Perry Mason reference). Both are in the NICU with some breathing issues but we have been given very optimistic words to lessen our concerns. Jeanne did great and she put up with a lot to bring these children into the world. She is a little frustrated because neither of us are allowed to hold the kids but we know that time will be soon as they gain strength in the coming days. Thank you all for the love and support you gave us and we are still thankful for continued well wishes. It is a very exciting moment in Jeanne and I lives and we are still in shock that the day we knew would come has arrived. My next posting will have pictures - I forgot the digital camera in my hurry to get to the hospital earlier this morning.
